    December 14, 2021, Schlesinger Center, Speaker, Glenda K. Sorto, M.Ed., is a member of the counseling faculty at NOVA. As a student at NOVA, Sorto was in the first cohort of the “Pathway to the Baccalaureate” program. After graduating in 2009, she went on to a pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology and then a Master of Education in counseling and development from George Mason University. The first in her family to graduate from college, Sorto truly appreciated the guidance she received from the counselors and advisors at NOVA; so much so that she sought to become a counselor herself. Sorto has also volunteered as a translator at the Immigrant Family Preparedness Clinic and as a college and career workshop facilitator for Fairfax County Public Schools, more specifically in Title 1 elementary schools
